~CROCHET MINI OCTO FREE PATTERN~

Materials Needed:

To get started on this crochet octopus mini keychain, gather the following materials:
Worsted weight yarn in your desired color(s)
Crochet hook suitable for your yarn (suggested size: 2.00mm)
Fiberfill stuffing
Yarn needle
Keychain ring or lobster clasp (optional)
Scissors
Bead for eyes

Abbreviation:

Ch: chain.
Mc: Magic Circle
Sl st: slip stitch.
Sc: single crochet.
Hdc: half double crochet.
❤Dec: Crochet Decrease
❤Inc: Crochet Increase

Pattern Instructions:

Step 1: Starting with the octopus body:

Begin by creating a magic ring and work the following rounds:
Round 1: Make 6 single crochet  (sc) stitches into the magic ring. Pull tight to close the ring. (6 stitches)
♡ Round 2: Work 2 sc (inc) into each stitch around. (12 stitches)
♡ Round 3: *1 sc in the next stitch, inc (2sc) in the next stitch* Repeat from * to * around. (18 stitches)
♡ Rounds 4-6: Work 1 sc in each stitch around. (18 stitches)
♡ Rounds 7: *Dec, sc in next stitch* Repeat from * to * around.
~ Slip stitch and Fasten off~
♡ Rounds 8: Chain 1 and work on the back loop. 1 Dec, 2sc next stitch repeat (18)

[add stuffing]

♡ Rounds 8: skip 1 chain at the beginning of the R10. Dec around St (6)

~ Slip stitch and Fasten off with a Longtail. Add some stuffing and close the hole~

Step 2: Forming the tentacles:

To Add Tentacles you should work on  front loops in the 9th row

♡ Round 1: Chain 2, 5hdc in a single stitch and slip stitch, ch1

and repeat it until the end.

~fasten off~

Step 3: octopus Mouth:

♡ Round 1: 6 sc in Mc

Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Step 4: Adding details:

Sew octopus mouth on 6-7 row

Use the yarn needle and the remaining tail to sew the opening closed. Weave in any loose ends.

To create the octopus's eyes, embroider or sew tiny French knots or use safety eyes.

If desired, attach a keychain ring or lobster clasp to the top of the octopus head for easy attachment to your keys or bags.
