Scrunchies: From Drab to Fab - A DIY Guide to Making Your Own

 Hello there!

Are you tired of spending your hard-earned money on fancy scrunchies that just end up disappearing into the abyss of your hair accessory drawer?

Fear not, my dear friend, for I have the perfect solution for you: make your own scrunchies!

Not only will you save money, but you'll also have the satisfaction of creating something with your own two hands.

So, let's get scrunchin'!

HOW TO MAKE BASIC SCRUNCHIES (REGULAR):

Step 1: Gather your materials First things first, you'll need to gather your supplies.

You'll need fabric, elastic, a sewing machine, thread, scissors, and pins.

Don't have a sewing machine? Don't fret! You can always sew by hand; it might take a little longer. And don't be afraid to get creative with your fabric choices.

Why settle for a plain old scrunchie when you can have a glittery one or one covered in cute little animals?

Step 2: Cut your fabric Now that you've got your materials, it's time to get down to business.

Cut your fabric into a rectangle that is 3 inches wide and 20 inches long.

This is the perfect size for a standard scrunchie. If you want a larger or smaller scrunchie, just adjust the dimensions accordingly.

Step 3: Sew the fabric together Fold your fabric in half lengthwise, right sides together, and pin along the long edge.

Sew a straight stitch along the edge, making sure to backstitch at the beginning and end.

Now, turn your fabric right side out and press it flat.

Step 4: Add the elastic Cut a piece of elastic that is 6- 8 inches long. Attach a safety pin to one end of the elastic and use it to guide it through the fabric tube.

Make sure to hold onto the other end of the elastic so it doesn't disappear into the scrunchie abyss.

Once the elastic is all through, overlap the two ends by about half an inch and sew them together.

Step 5: Close the scrunchie Fold the edges of the fabric tube in on themselves, about half an inch, and pin them in place.

Sew a straight stitch along the edge, making sure to catch both sides of the fabric.

And voila! You've got yourself a scrunchie.

Congratulations, my friend, you are now a scrunchie-making pro!

Now you can create a whole collection of scrunchies in every color and pattern imaginable.

Who needs store-bought scrunchies when you can make your own personalized ones?

From Mini to Jumbo: A Guide to Creating Scrunchies in Every Size and Style

If you're a scrunchie lover like me, you know that one size definitely doesn't fit all.

Luckily, there are a variety of scrunchie sizes to choose from to match your hair

type and personal style. Here are some different sizes of scrunchies you can make:

Standard Scrunchie:

This is the classic size that most of us are familiar with.

It's approximately 3 inches wide and 20 inches long when cut, and is perfect for medium to long hair.

It provides a comfortable hold without being too tight.

 Mini Scrunchie:

If you have shorter hair or just want a more subtle hair accessory, the mini scrunchie is the way to go.

It's about half the size of a standard scrunchie (2"×20") and provides a cute and delicate touch to any hairstyle.

❤ Jumbo Scrunchie:

On the other end of the spectrum, we have the jumbo scrunchie.
This one is great for those with thick hair, or for creating a dramatic look.

It's about 6 inches wide and 24 inches long and provides a secure hold without pulling or tugging.

❤ Skinny Scrunchie:

The skinny scrunchie is perfect for those with fine or thin hair.
It's about 1 inch wide and 18 inches long and provides a subtle touch without overwhelming your hair.
It's also great for creating fun braids and other intricate hairstyles.
❤
Bow Scrunchie :
If you're feeling extra fancy, the bow scrunchie is a fun and playful option.
It's essentially a standard scrunchie with an added bow on top and provides a cute and unique touch to any outfit.

So there you have it, folks!

From mini to jumbo, there's a scrunchie size for every hair type and personal style.

Don't be afraid to experiment and try different sizes to find the perfect one for you.

Happy scrunchie-making!
